What is your core value? What is your ultimate purpose?

What is your core value? What is your ultimate purpose? If you had asked me this about 5 years ago, I wouldn’t have had a clear answer for you. I had a sense of what I wanted to do, a general direction I envisioned for myself, but it wasn’t until I entered into an intense period of Mentoring and Business Coaching Sessions that I discovered and could articulate my core values and how to leverage them.

Some of you may not know that I offer one on one Mentoring and Business Coaching Sessions. With all my clients, we examine their core beliefs, what they truly value and not only want but need to express. It’s so exciting to watch the evolution of a client as they recognize and claim their gifts and power as an artist.

With a mentor, you can be guided towards your deepest values and your ultimate purpose. The ideas and inspiration are not out there but are within you and have always been.

Here’s a recent random conversation I had with an older, grizzled man on the subway:

Him: I’m taking a class on mindfulness.
Me: It’s great. I really enjoyed it.
Him: My lower back hurts though and my hips.
Me: Yup, the seat of emotions. Is there anything you haven’t forgiven yourself for?
Him: I wish I was a better father, I was never there for my girls.
Pause
Him: Who has this type of conversation on a subway?
Me: We do.

My ultimate value is intimacy. Yup. I can’t escape it so I let it wild and loose. Even on the New York subway.
